Dahlstedt—Colored Pencil on Drafting Film 02/29
About the Artist and Medium
Barbara Dahlstedt has had an incredible year since she appeared as demo artist at our February 2019 meeting including accolades from two national organizations:
— A Signature Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, her 'Wyld Man' was awarded Best of Show at the Society's 2019 international exhibition
— Award of Excellence from American Women Artists, at their 2019 show
— Plus a host of awards in her home state of Arizona.
She earned her BFA from Arizona State University, and continued to develop her art in her career as a high school teacher.
Drafting film is a 100% polyester surface that is archival, translucent and non-yellowing. It allows for rapid, vibrant color-laydown, crisp and fine detail and gives a luminous photographic quality to artwork.
