Water color Supplies
Paints: Minimum Colors Needed; I recommend WinsorNewton Brand but Cotman and Grumbacher are also good. 1 Small Tube of the following;
New Gamboge or Cadmium Yellow, Permanent Aliziron Crimson, French Ultramarine Blue.
Optional colors or purchase if desired: Cadmium Red Medium, Thalo Blue, Cerulean Blue, Hookers Green, Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber and Chinese White.
Brushes: Simply Simmons Brand; #6 Round Natural Hair and Oval Flat 1 inch. Natural Hair. Both are priced at $3.96 each.
Optional Brushes: # 12 or # 14 Round, Orange Hair, $3.96 each. 2 or 3 inch wide Chip Brush for laying wide washes on paper, $2.55 or $5.81.
Paper: The Higher Quality the Better: I recommend Arches Cold Press (Green Cover) 140 Lb. in Block form or full sheets cut to smaller sizes. Block size 9 x 12 inch minimum or 11 x 14 Inch or larger. Arches Papers are expensive so use your judgment.

Strathmore Brand 140 Lb. 12 Sheet Tablet 9 x 12 or 11 x 15 Inch.

Arches Sheets: 140 Lb. 22 x 30 inch or 300 Lb, 22 x 30 Inches cut to sizes desired.

Other needed Supplies: Drawing Board to tape paper on*. Brown Packaging Gummy Tape ( Must be dampened to attach to damp paper and drawing board.)
Tan or Blue Masking tape if you attach dry paper to Drawing Board.
*NOTE: I will buy and seal panels in various sizes called Homasote that paper is stapled onto. If using this method you will need a Fold-open Office Stapler or a Light Weight Staple Gun. I will sell the Homasote Panels at my cost.
A Pint or larger plastic or glass jar with lid for water. Spay Bottle for water, A Sponge, A few Sheets of Paper Towels, Pack of Facial Tissue, Small Sketch book for thumbnail and larger preliminary Drawings, 1 HB or 2 H pencil and a 2B or 3B pencil. Art Gum Eraser or Kneaded Rubber Eraser. Your sales assistant may also suggest other items.
Photographs that you have taken or of family situations.
We will also do some Still Life Set-ups in Class.
